About Tessa

I began studying Pilates before becoming a mother to address chronic pain from working behind a desk. As a former dancer I resented the 9–5 work life and had already turned to yoga as a way of coming back to my body. Pilates allowed me to break pain patterns and heal old injuries. I became certified and had three kids, including twins (who were eight pounds each!). Every time my body needed a path to repair, Pilates brought me back stronger. And because of this I’m a huge advocate for the body’s resilience. I don’t work out with my students; I coach them. Together we learn your body’s story and use it to reprogram your reflexes through careful work. Combined with a culture of self-compassion, humor, and curiosity, our work makes a powerful catalyst for lifelong change.

My certifications include: Power Pilates, Balanced Body Reformer, Melt Method, Kelly Kane School of therapeutic Pilates, and the “diastasis whisperer” Lisa Schoenholt’s Control D method. I also hold more than 8 years of professional ballet training, and completed my 500-hour yoga training with Integral Yoga. As a lifelong learner, I have joined pelvic floor and physical therapy study groups, and I take workshops on topics such as postpartum rehabilitation and embodied anatomy, like the Franklyn Method, which helped me focus on how the body is really designed to move.
